California Consumer Privacy Act and Future Privacy Trends

Caldwell NJ. The expanding regulatory mandates, fast-changing technology landscape, and high-profile data breach cases have elevated privacy from merely a “check-the-box” compliance matter to an enterprise-wide operational focus.

Regulators and consumers are expecting increased privacy rights over an individual’s personal data. The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) sets a new “standard” for future US privacy regulations.  This session will discuss:

  • Implications of CCPA
  • Difference from the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
  • Practical steps to address CCPA
  • Developing a scalable privacy program to respond to future privacy mandates globally

The speakers are Derek Han of Grant Thornton and Rebecca Greenhalgh of OneTrust. Derek has over 20 years of professional experience in cyber security and privacy consulting. He has helped global financial institutions transform their data privacy programs. Rebecca is a certified information privacy professional and a Global Alliances Executive at OneTrust LLC, which is the largest and most widely used dedicated privacy management technology platform for compliance with global privacy laws.
