Cybersecurity Threat Landscape

This roundtable session will be led by Atif Ghauri who is the Cybersecurity Practice Leader for Mazars USA. The session will delve into 4 key areas:

  1. Data privacy and new financial exposure to mandates such as CCPA and GDPR. The California Consumer Privacy Act and EU’s General Data Protection Regulation are exposing companies to considerable fines (up to 5% of revenue) for failure to protect consumer data.
  2. Cybersecurity labor shortage.  Organizations are struggling not only to hire but also to retain personnel with cybersecurity skills.  This is necessitating that managed security service providers (MSSP) have 24/7 cybersecurity availability.
  3. Compromise assessments – have I already been compromised?   With all the attacks reported daily, many organizations run tests on whether they have been compromised and just don’t know it.
  4. Cybersecurity posture and roadmap – what are our controls? Boards want to know their current state regarding cybersecurity.  What are the key questions being asked and how can organizations get a baseline assessment that is based on industry best practices?

Atif is a renowned cybersecurity expert with 20 years of experience in management consulting, technical and sales operations, product management, and business development. He is an innovator in cybersecurity, receiving a patent in security analytics on embedded consumer devices monitoring user activity anomalies. Atif serves as an Adjunct Professor in Cybersecurity at Drexel University and Rutgers University.

This conference will feature 3 concurrent roundtables:  cybersecurity; SALT issues and their conformity with federal tax reform, and IFRS17 implementation. When you register for the conference, you can choose which of the breakout sessions you would like to attend.
