FAVORITE PROJECT

Quarterly Financial Analysis Package
The quarterly financial results package for the Casualty and Specialty segment is presented to executives and forms the basis of information presented to the board of directors and shareholders. It was imperative to shorten the timeframe to develop the data used to prepare the analysis. Cross-functional teams developed a new process that would streamline the data into a financial analysis package that has been successfully implemented.

ResponsibilitiesRESPONSIBILITIES

  • US reinsurance financial close process for GAAP and statutory reporting
  • Oversee the financial close process as well as the maintenance of internal controls over financial reporting
  • Support the Head of Finance of Global Casualty & Specialty with the consolidated RenaissanceRe segment reporting
  • Financial planning and analysis for the global Casualty and Specialty segment

Challenges2020 CHALLENGES

With today’s advanced technology, our global finance team uses virtual video conferencing and strong communication techniques to enable us to streamline the close processes. It’s imperative for the organization to continue to look for technological enhancements to support the finance function.

Success PathwaySUCCESS PATHWAY

Growing up in Brooklyn, Lori worked in a family-owned retail business, learning skills she would use to build and work with teams.

While in college, Lori’s summer job in accounting changed her career path. She switched her major from biology to accounting. During college, she was hired by St. Paul Re; deciding to work full-time while finishing college at night.

Lori also attributes her success to the support of her husband and family. With 3 beautiful daughters keeping both spouses busy, they’ve found ways to support each other’s careers and build a strong family bond. Like Lori, the girls like to travel, and their favorite destination is Italy.
