FAVORITE PROJECT

IFRS 17 Insurance Contracts Standards Implementation
I led this very technical and complex project spanning multiple teams and geographies. Organizing the project into 12 implementation workstreams allowed us to focus on the practical application of key concepts, the assessment of the required data availability and development of a smart approach for system related changes. It resulted in an efficient structure and improved collaboration allowing us to identify interdependencies and efficiencies, and not only to comply with IFRS 17 requirements but also to provide key stakeholders with a different perspective on the business.

ResponsibilitiesRESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implementation of new accounting standards and processes by setting up strategic partnership among multiple teams and geographies, focusing on reducing complexity, increasing automation and ensuring practical application of key concepts
  • Processes improvement initiatives within accounting and reporting organizations
  • Technical accounting documentation for significant transactions and events
  • Development and coordination of accounting policies in accordance with IFRS, AASB

Challenges2020 VISION

2020 itself is a challenge, but crises do create opportunities. I believe that opportunities should be the focus of the industry. Our customers are facing unique challenges. We should focus on strengthening the relationships with our customers by helping them to manage their risks and assess the future impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. We can do this by being transparent while navigating unchartered waters.
