SIFM Awards Its 2021 Scholarship to a Student from Saint Joseph’s University

Caldwell NJ — Sean Egan, president of the SIFM and partner in the New York Financial Service practice of KPMG, presented the SIFM 2021 Scholarship to Ashley Martin, a student at Saint Joseph’s University (Philadelphia). 

The SIFM Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship presented to a qualified student attending a top School of Risk Management, Insurance and Actuarial Science who intends to seek a career in the insurance industry. 

Ms. Martin, a junior in the Risk Management program at Saint Joseph’s University, is pursuing a double major in accounting and risk management & insurance.  Ashley is a member of Gamma Iota Sigma and the Accounting Society.

Mr. Egan observed that she is very passionate about her education and career path as well as striving to be a future leader in the industry. She has already passed the CPCU 500, 520 and 555, and also has a waiver for 557. Her goal is to pass all 8 CPCU exams and earn an AIDA designation prior to graduating in 2022.

In addition to the rigors of her academic studies, Ashley is a member of the Saint Joseph’s Division 1, cross country, indoor and outdoor track, and field team, which requires 20 hours of practice and competition weekly.
