Here’s what Lee Campbell has to share:
FAVORITE PROJECT
I have been fortunate to work on very large complex transactions such as strategic acquisitions and dispositions from start to finish. My role allows me to assist in balancing third party costs and internal support to complete the work while balancing risk efficiently and effectively. These transactions also allow me to interact with a wide variety of people within the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES
My position is pretty broad in the sense I get to interact with a variety of groups within finance and the business unit. I oversee the technical accounting teams for investments, corporate and support of strategic transactions (M&A).
I work with SEC reporting, statutory reporting, corporate M&A, investments, tax, internal audit/controls & business units CFO/Controllers.
2021 VISION
I have already seen the beginning of the use of artificial intelligence and apps to allow the insured more access and to tailor insurance products resulting in reduced costs. It is really interesting to see the changes in how insurance is sold or how underwriting is changing.
SUCCESS PATHWAY
“I am a hard worker with an eagerness to learn and a strong desire to problem solve! That stems from growing up in several foster homes and being on my own since I was 16. Putting myself through college and starting my own family has helped me to understand my strengths as well as areas for improvement. My background has motivated me to become an independent, hard-working self-starter which is a perpetual endeavor at a large insurance company.
Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to work with mentors who have helped me to adjust my professional aspirations. This attitude allows me to work with colleagues and teams to identify practical solutions to issues.
My family is very important to my success. We embark on activities together like skiing and watching the kids (daughter and son) play soccer, basketball, and baseball. I discovered that being together and building relationships are very important as I moved along my personal and career paths.”
