Mr. Vogel is a managing director in the M&A practice and National Tax Department based in Washington, D.C., and works primarily on structuring complex corporate transactions, including those involving SPACs.  Gary joined Ernst & Young LLP in 2001 and has over 29 years of experience, with much of that concentrated in transaction tax matters involving insurance and other financial services companies.

Gary has had extensive experience planning both taxable and tax-free transactions, including stock and asset acquisitions and dispositions, tax attribute utilization planning, and the consolidated return aspects of transactions.
