Cornell – Former Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer, AIG Life & Retirement
Mr. Cornell has over 20 years of experience in financial services. Formerly with AIG, he oversaw the asset management team and portfolio construction teams that invested assets backing life and retirement liabilities and surplus. His responsibilities included asset origination and portfolio management, risk and capital management, liability driven investment strategies, strategic and tactical asset allocation, regulatory and rating agency reporting, analytics, and other investment related functions. He served as a board member for several AIG related and third-party companies.
Prior to being dedicated to the Life and Retirement division, he served in other positions in AIG Investments including Head of Asset Management, Chief Investment Officer of AIG General Insurance and Head of Municipal Bond Investments. He joined the investment team in 1994.
Mr. Cornell earned his MBA in finance from Fordham University and his BS is business administration with a concentration in finance from Bryant University. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) professional designation.
