SIFM Awards Its 2024 Scholarship to a Student from Saint Joseph’s University

Caldwell NJ — John Yoon, president of the SIFM and chief accounting officer at QBE North America presented the SIFM 2024 Scholarship to Ashley Rodgers, a student at Saint Joseph’s University (Philadelphia). The award was presented at SIFM’s Quarterly Conference on December 6th.

The SIFM Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship presented to a qualified student attending a top school of risk management, insurance and actuarial science who intends to seek a career in the insurance industry. Mr. Yoon noted that “this is the sixth year of our scholarship. The SIFM believes in nurturing the exchange of ideas among professionals in the insurance industry. Therefore, the SIFM Scholarship affords students the opportunity to meet professionals and executives in insurance, reinsurance and advisory firms specializing in insurance fostering an understanding of the challenges to the industry.”

Ms. Rodgers expects to graduate with a double major in finance and risk management & insurance (GPA of 3.56) in May 2025 from St Joseph’s University. Ashley is actively involved in several societies and holds leadership positions at the university. She is also a part-time Design Professionals Underwriting Intern at RLI Corp, while focusing on her studies.

Mr. Yoon noted that Ashley not only has a stellar academic record, but also serves on university organizations including the University Council and Student Budget Allocation Committee as well as the University Student Senate. She is also a brother of Delta Sigma Pi, a member of Gamma Iota Sigma and an Appalachian Experience Leader.
