Patrik – Actuarial Principal, PwC
Ms. Patrik has extensive experience leading teams for some of PwC’s largest P&C clients with global (re)insurance operations, under both audit and advisory engagements. She brings broad-based perspectives on the insurance market, operational governance, and accounting transformation.
In particular, Lela has extensive experience with IFRS 17, working hand-in-hand with her clients on implementation strategy, technical accounting interpretation, identification of data needed to support measurement, and opportunities within the guidance to apply alternative assumptions or methodologies. In addition, she has done extensive work on PAA eligibility – building frameworks to assess eligibility, evaluating guidance to understand areas of flexibility, and assisting her clients with strategic considerations in implementation.
Ms. Patrik earned a BA in mathematics, statistics and sociology, anthropology education from Swarthmore College. She is a contributing author of the IFRS 17 textbook published by the Society of Actuaries and she speaks frequently at insurance industry events on IFRS 17 and other insurance topics. She is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and is a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
