SIFM Conferences
The SIFM sponsors Quarterly Conferences in March, June, and December as well as an Annual Conference in September of each year. Conferences feature leading experts with working knowledge of the theory as well as the practical application of each issue.
In an afternoon, a member can attend a Quarterly Conference to learn about insurance industry issues such as cybersecurity, accounting or tax reform as well as the global, federal and, state regulation of insurance companies.
SIFM also sponsors a three-day comprehensive Annual Conference each September designed to highlight key facets of the insurance industry. Keynote speakers are drawn from both regulatory and industry sectors presenting their thoughts and positions on the insurance industry.
A recent survey of our members noted that one of the best, most effective conferences that they attend is an SIFM Conference. The conferences are an extraordinary opportunity to make face-to-face connections with high profile industry leaders as well as catch-up with colleagues from who attend.
SIFM has launched two special interest groups (SIGs) Women of SIFM and Young Professionals.
Women of SIFM
Women of SIFM provides female insurance executives a supportive environment in which to learn, share and deepen their understanding of the skills necessary to succeed in today’s competitive, constantly evolving, global environment. Meetings feature speakers and provide opportunities to build one’s network and foster meaningful relationships, to encourage an open dialogue among members including providing advice on leadership behaviors, alternative issue resolution and support in advancing and enriching each other’s career.
SIFM Young Professionals
SIFM Young Professionals events are designed for professionals under 40 years of age.
Young professionals’ success depends upon understanding the big picture – the opportunities and threats in the global insurance market. But it also requires the leadership skills and vision to work with cross-functional, cross-industry teams as well as to engage with employees within a company.
The goal of the SIFM Young Professionals is to help members stand out from the crowd. The SIFM Young Professionals provides programs and opportunities to enhance leadership and networking events among members as well as offering opportunities to network with industry leaders.
